Point of saturation

It’s been a long time since I wrote one of my little scribbles. While I can give you a lot of excuses for this long delay… they are still that: excuses. The real reason: I’m not really that interested in clothing. I have read every blog post from Derek over at Dieworkwear. Have been reading Crompton’s posts over at Permanent Style, and a scala of other blogs. They don’t captivate me as they used to do. Most of the time I feel bored reading them. Why? Well, maybe it’s because I know what I like, and I don’t need any advice. I know everything about cloth, about design and about the making of suits, boots and shirts. So what’s the point?

This brings me to my weekly(!) writings. I don’t know what I would like to write, because everything seems so repetitive. Everything has been done to death. Everybody is talking about the fit, about the construction, about all the intricate details that it seems pointless to put it onto digital paper once again. When I started I wanted to do something unique. Well, it’s not easy to find something that’s unique… I should have known.

In the meantime, I discovered a new hobby: Jazz, vinyl and HIFI-Audio. Really interesting and a world on its own. There is finally something new to learn!

Of course, this doesn’t mean that I will stop writing about style. It will just be in a different form factor. I will write more about my own thoughts, I think that’s pretty unique! So next week will be my first post about something you may enjoy.

If you want to ask me something more practical just sent me a PM (also possible over at styleforum.nl and stijlforum.nl – my name is L.deJong)

See you!!!

But perhaps you’ve been in the trade for many decades? ūüėä If not, then hmmmm There’s always more to discover… if you wish. If it’s your interest, you’ll find more colourful flowers on your path if you have the eyes for it. If you’ve found yourself a new area, well perhaps because you’re still in formative years, but it’s good as that’s what one calls development. Hopefully you’ll find new areas of interest… Read more »
